Gotta thank the Lord? Um, not so much.

In this uncomfortable exchange, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer interviews an Oklahoma tornado survivor, asking her if she thanks the Lord for having made […]

Purity punditry.

(Polite Conversation)     Z has been acting so abominably of late, I’ve taken to fantasizing of locking myself in the bathroom and screaming […]

Our government, at work.

Well, this is just stupid. From Before It’s News:   Many of the freedoms we enjoy here in the U.S. are quickly eroding as […]

To borrow a line from Drake: I’m more than just a number. But if I had to pick one, I’d be a 7 — not perfect, just honest about it.

I’m Alisha: 30, a Christ-follower, married to my husband Keiron, and mom to our daughter Zoe. East of Eden is where I write weekly about faith, culture, and relationships — a curious mix of the relevant and reverential, covering everything from religion and politics to pop culture to the quieter, more personal stuff.

I’m slightly off-kilter (but aren’t all “ar-teeests”?) and not your average girl. Hope you enjoy the rantings — don’t take the sarcasm too seriously, and know that comments are always welcome. Very welcome… ahem, HINT, HINT, HINT.

“A curious mix of the sacred and profane… too nice for a run of the mill blog?”
— Joe, my brother
“Are you really bored, or something?”

One note a week — faith, culture, and the questions in between. No spam, ever.
